What is the Senior Class?
The Senior Class is a community of final-year students preparing to graduate. It fosters unity, leadership, and school spirit among prospective graduates.
Members help plan meaningful activities, create a strong class identity, and ensure a memorable graduation experience.
It also serves as a bridge between students, faculty, and the Alumni Association, building lifelong friendships and loyalty to the University of the Southern Caribbean (USC).
How to Qualify for Senior Class Membership
To be eligible for membership in the Senior Class, you must:
- Be listed on the First Draft of the Graduation List, including submission of a completed graduation application and contract confirming all degree requirements will be met before graduation.
- Be officially registered as a final-year student in your degree programme.
- Have applied for graduation for the current academic year.
- Be in good academic, financial, and disciplinary standing.
- Maintain good and regular admission status
Senior Class Membership Criteria
To qualify for membership, you must show reasonable assurance of being able to complete all course requirements by the 2nd semester immediately preceding the May/June Commencement.
A Graduation Contract must also be submitted.
Courses & Credits Not Counted Towards Degree Requirements
The following will not be counted toward your degree requirements:
- Courses with grades below ‘C’ in emphasis, minor, or transferred credits (as of September 2021).
- Credits for Incompletes (I) and Deferred Grades (DG).
- Topics in & Independent Study courses not accompanied by the Instructor Approval Card.
- Transfer approvals with less credit awarded than the required transfer course.
- Courses approved for transfer but later taken at USC (in-house courses take precedence).
Senior Class Executive Formation – Nomination & Voting
Formation Date: November 12, 2025
Nomination & Voting: November 12, 2025 (same day)
All nominees must be present on the day of formation to be eligible.
The Office of the Provost will oversee and announce the official process.
Senior Class Executive Positions
The following positions will be elected:- President: Leads the class, oversees committees, and represents the class.
- Vice President: Assists the President with planning and coordination.
- Secretary: Keeps minutes, manages communication, and maintains records.
- Assistant Secretary/Treasurer: Assists the Secretary and manages class finances.
- Public Relations Officer: Handles all communications and online platforms.
- Pastor: Plans and leads spiritual activities.
- Sergeant-at-Arms: Maintains order and ensures rules are followed.
- Poet: Writes the class song and creative works.
- Historian: Records class achievements and history.
- Floor Members (2): Represent the general membership.
- Sponsors (2): Faculty advisors for the class.
Senior Class Formation Date
The Senior Class for the 2025–2026 academic year will be officially formed on:- Wednesday, November 12, 2025 Nomination & Voting will take place on the same day. Nominees must be present at Formation Day to qualify.
